A truly wonderful friend has been giving us hand me down clothes from her daughter to our daughter. She mentioned she wanted some super cozy pajamas back to make into a quilt. I mentioned I had been quilting recently. So here we are, with a baby clothes quilt from all her favorite clothes.
I cut the patttern pieces out of lightweight interfacing and ironed on the pieces onto any of the baby clothes that were jersey fabric. Here are the green pajamas with as many pattern pieces as I could manage to squeeze on.

I am using the kaleidescope pattern from Don’t Call Me Betsy

Just laying out the pieces to see what else we need. Hopefully I can make this into a full size quilt.

And now to take some time off to spend the holidays with family… see you in the new year!

What a darling idea! Now I wish I’d saved some of my favorite baby clothes from my boys instead of passing them down to their cousins. Stabilizing the knits before cutting them out is a great idea. Looking forward to seeing this come together for you! Merry Christmas!
