A big stack for Days for Girls

Filed under: Tons of other stuff made with fabric — perrymoffitt @ 10:54 pm

These have taken forrrreeeevvvveeerrrr. I am glad to do it for a good cause.

I used this to sum up the last time I talked about this project;

“Days for Girls” . If you don’t want to click I can try to sum it up. In parts of this world where there isn’t regular garbage collection or bathroom plumbing, that time of the month means that young girls and women frequently stay in their rooms, sometimes sitting on cardboard. And here is the important part, these girls are hiding away and missing class or work for one week every 4 weeks, the effect are huge, they marry younger, stay less educated, and earn less for their families. Basic hygiene that we take for granted is being brought to them in the form of kits from amazing sewing volunteers.

In a moment of victory I laid the 48 I made out. They kinda look like a quilt here.

Very impressive stack here.IMG_0307

Another stack picture, humor me, these took way longer than I thought they would! IMG_0308

    • So happy to share this with someone that might have even greater contribution power than me! I bet PMQG could make a ton of these with all the talented sewing folks!
