Carle Baby Quilt
A baby quilt for a lovely baby born this summer to some of our favorite hippy-dippy friends.
I love that polka dot fabric so much I wish I had bought more!
Mama loved the quilt and and I loved making the rainbow.

Seuss Quilt
Made this just in time for a baby shower for a good friend with a Seuss themed nursery.
Sometimes I find it hard to work with a print like this one. I tried to stick to some simple blender prints and I am thrilled with how it turned out. Not gender specific and bright and cheerful!
I wish I had gotten better pictures but it was late the night before the shower. That is the gift bag there on the left that I crammed it into a few minutes later! … Maybe I will get one with the baby on it!
This was my March finish for a 4 month Work-In-Progress challenge at the local quilt shop. I started easy, the next 3 WIP’s are much larger so I will be back in a little while with a Kaleidoscope quilt.

Pluses baby quilt
A throwback to some warmer days. When it edged above 30 degrees for days at a time. I pulled out some squares and made a good scrap buster in the fall.
I am just waiting for a baby shower for a girl baby to gift this away.
And I got to use this backing that I have been hanging on to forever. Love!

Scrappy French Braid
Don’t know what I will do with these lovelies yet but, I am slowly but surely making the whole rainbow.
It will have to be a quilt for my bed, because these are just too awesome.
Happy spring days to you! Off to spend some more time in the garden!

Circus Baby Quilt
Thank goodness spring has finally arrived. This quilt was waiting and waiting to look seasonally appropriate!
Don’t take pictures in full sun. Quilted wrinkles are so distracting. Noted. and moving on.
I wish the green popped a little more, but live and learn…
Don’t judge me too harshly on the binding corners, I was in a rush to get to the baby shower before it was over!

Scrappy French Braid
I have a head cold. It has affected my judgement. I saw a french braid pattern on pinterest and thought “awesome, perfect for my scraps” . And then I discovered how it is not perfect. The braid veers drunkenly, and then I try to correct it, but because I have a head cold, I can’t fathom if a skinny stripe or fat stripe is my next choice. Oh well, I will continue, I think it will eventually become a rainbow quilt.
Time for some Nyquil. I will be embarrassed that I shared this in the morning, surely…

Sample blocks with scraps
I have a big plan for these but I dare note say what they are for yet…
I pulled from my scrap bag for the first 3 blocks.
I am pleasantly surprised that I found a good variety.
although the teal supply hit rock bottom after this block.
I tried out my new 60 degree triangle on this one and I am very pleased with the result.
I still have a few more to make, and then I will reveal the secret project.
I managed to get mini-me into one of the two new dresses I made for her, but only with the bribery of her nap-time-only pacifier. I recycled a long sleeve onesie into this cutie dress by trimming the sleeves and adding one big ruffle.
and she picked out the boots.

Baby clothes quilt
A truly wonderful friend has been giving us hand me down clothes from her daughter to our daughter. She mentioned she wanted some super cozy pajamas back to make into a quilt. I mentioned I had been quilting recently. So here we are, with a baby clothes quilt from all her favorite clothes.
I cut the patttern pieces out of lightweight interfacing and ironed on the pieces onto any of the baby clothes that were jersey fabric. Here are the green pajamas with as many pattern pieces as I could manage to squeeze on.
I am using the kaleidescope pattern from Don’t Call Me Betsy
Just laying out the pieces to see what else we need. Hopefully I can make this into a full size quilt.
And now to take some time off to spend the holidays with family… see you in the new year!

Scrappy Houses Quilt
I have been done with this quilt for a while, but was waiting for my mother-in-law to come for a visit so I could finally give it to her. Christmas in July is what this really is, 7 months past it’s due date!
There is a lot going on in this quilt,I took some detail shots in an earlier post.
I like the back almost as much as the front. It is a long saved Ikea duvet cover. I had to add a little to the sides to make the twin size expanded to a queen size. The final size on this quilt is 90″ x 90″. Green is a hard color when it comes to quilts. Or at least I find it to be tough. It always looks a bit christmasy unless you can find some nice light greens. I think the binding saved this one from the christmas vibe. I am always on the lookout for green on green prints, and now more than ever because I have used up 2 of them!
